Overview Role: Accounting Software Tester to validate, verify, and enhance our AI-powered accounting platform Focus: Ensure high-quality user experience by testing functionalities, identifying issues, and providing feedback for continuous improvement Commitment: ~5 hours per week on a part-time basis Location: 100% Remote (US Time Zone) About DualEntry We’re a well-funded, pre-launch company bringing AI to accounting software: With 75% of CPAs retiring soon and fewer entering the field, accounting needs a modern software solution. Current accounting software is outdated, overpriced, and inefficient, burdened by manual processes. DualEntry is an AI-native platform that automates accounting workflows, integrates seamlessly with top-tier software, and supports multi-company and multi-currency operations. Built by former CPAs and backed by leaders from NetSuite, Xero, and Sage, our audit-ready platform is designed to transform the future of accounting. What You’ll Do Test and Validate : Thoroughly test new features and updates within our accounting software (e.g., transaction entries, reporting dashboards, integration flows). Bug Identification : Proactively identify, document, and track software bugs and discrepancies in accounting functionalities. Scenario Creation : Design real-world accounting scenarios to rigorously test the platform’s ability to handle day-to-day accounting tasks and edge cases. Feedback Loop : Provide clear, concise feedback and suggestions for improvements to developers and product teams. Collaboration : Work closely with engineers and product managers to ensure quick turnaround on fixes, and maintain the software’s functional and aesthetic quality. Perks Competitive Hourly Rate : $10-40 USD per hour; depending on qualifications and experience. Remote-First : Work from anywhere, as long as you can align with US time zones for meetings. Flexible Schedule : ~5 hours per week, ideal for someone seeking part-time, project-based work. What You Bring 1–3 years of accounting experience : Familiarity with basic bookkeeping, journal entries, and standard financial reports (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, etc.). Experience with Accounting Software : Comfort navigating popular accounting tools (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite) and ability to quickly learn new platforms. Attention to Detail : Ability to spot inconsistencies in transactions, data, and UI. Fluent English (C1+) : Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially important for detailed bug reports and test documentation. Remote-First Mindset : Comfortable collaborating via Slack, email, and video calls while working from anywhere in the US time zone. Availability : 5 hours per week, flexible scheduling but available to overlap with US business hours as needed.
