PROGRAM SUMMARY

Early Learning 3's is a half day preschool program. Early Learning Preschool operates as a part of the St. Louis Park Public Schools Community Education in the Central Early Learning Community Center, a state-of-the-art building designed for our youngest children and families. Early Learning Preschool serves children 33 months to 5 years. The mission of St. Louis Park Public Schools is to see, inspire, and empower each learner to live their brilliance in an environment that centers student voice and experience to create racially equitable learning that energizes the spirit of community.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

A CE Educator's primary responsibility is to create a safe and nurturing learning environment that reflects and celebrates the brilliance of each child. Additionally you will have an added assignment of Class Lead which will entail additional compensation.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure instruction aligns with the St. Louis Park Public Schools vision, mission, and core values.
  • May be assigned the role of Class Lead and provide clear work direction and instructional leadership to support staff, substitutes, and volunteers working in the classroom.
  • Collaborate with peers to develop, plan and implement high quality, culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate instruction which fosters thinking, reasoning, problem solving and meets the unique needs of all children in alignment with the Early Learning Scope and Sequence
  • Utilize a variety of assessment tools to inform instruction.
  • Create culturally relevant lessons and learning environments which are safe, respectful, interesting and reflect student identity.
  • Work as a team to keep children safe and engaged.
  • Communicate and collaborate regularly with families.
  • Work in a supportive manner and collaborate with building colleagues and supervisors.
  • Participate in ongoing and regular staff, team, and individual professional development.
  • Complete 20 hours of professional development per year as required by Parent Aware standards.
  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of child development and the Early Childhood Indicators of Progress
  • Work collaboratively to support the social, physical, emotional and cognitive development of each child
  • Create and maintain a child-centered and developmentally appropriate environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Relevant laws, rules, regulations, and state required Early Learning guidelines
  • Central Early Learning Center's programing, operational policies, and district procedures and initiatives

  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with parents, colleagues, and community members from diverse backgrounds

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Required: High school diploma or equivalent
  • One (1) year of related early childhood experience is preferred.
  • Preferred Education: Child Development Associate's degree (CDA) or Baccalaureate degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Elementary Education, Early Childhood Special Education, Child Psychology or related field preferred.
