Position Overview

DSJ Global has partnered with a Power Electronics Manufacturer in Texas to bring on a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer who will be responsible for the end-to-end mechanical and thermal design of power supply products. This includes research, development, testing, and support throughout the product life cycle. The successful candidate will work cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and quality teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical and thermal design of electronic packaging for power supply systems.
• Develop detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using SolidWorks, including sheet metal and machined components.
• Conduct thermal and structural simulations using SolidWorks Flow Simulation and SolidWorks Simulation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve design and manufacturing challenges.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation including BOMs, ECOs, and technical reports.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, including ANSI/VITA 48.X.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of mechanical design experience, preferably in power electronics or related industries.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks / CAD software and simulation tools.
• Strong understanding of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and standard fabrication techniques.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Preferred Attributes

• Experience with thermal management of high-power electronics.
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
