You'll partner with mentors, collaborate with Cisco leaders and develop incredible relationships with colleagues who share your passion for connecting the unconnected. You'll be part of a team that cares deeply about its customers, enjoys having fun, and is dedicated to making a positive impact in our local communities. Come prepared to be encouraged, inspired, and to make a difference. Your Impact You are a dynamic and innovative leader with a passion for driving technical excellence in software engineering. With significant experience and a deep understanding of applications from end-to-end—spanning browser interfaces, cloud services, and backend data stores—you excel in creating seamless and efficient systems. Your expertise with back-end frameworks in production environments enables you to architect robust and scalable solutions. You possess strong problem-solving skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to mentor and inspire your team to achieve outstanding results. Your proactive approach and commitment to continuous learning make you an invaluable asset in navigating the complexities of SaaS backend development. You will develop backend software for a production cloud service for Cisco Networking Engineering to simplify the deployment of generative AI applications, providing IT visibility and analytics across the entire AI infrastructure stack. You will design and develop features - from analyzing requirements and scoping to design execution with quality throughout the development and deployment pipeline for a CI/CD cloud service deployment. Minimum Qualifications Bachelors degree in a STEM field with 8+ years of experience Experience programming with Go, C/C++, Java, and/or Python Experience with data structures, algorithms, and software design Experience with microservices software architecture Experience building and delivering SaaS offerings Experience working with networking technologies such as AWS, Linux, Virtualization, etc. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Kubernetes, Docker and CI/CD Strong analytical and debugging skills Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Ability to think creatively and be self-motivated Great communication skills, both verbal and written Why Cisco #WeAreCisco, where each person is unique, but we bring our talents to work as a team and make a difference powering an inclusive future for all. We embrace digital, and help our customers implement change in their digital businesses. Some may think we’re "old" (36 years strong) and only about hardware, but we’re also a software company. And a security company. We even invented an intuitive network that adapts, predicts, learns and protects. No other company can do what we do - you can’t put us in a box! But "Digital Transformation" is an empty buzz phrase without a culture that allows for innovation, creativity, and yes, even failure (if you learn from it.) Day to day, we focus on the give and take. We give our best, give our egos a break, and give of ourselves (because giving back is built into our DNA.) We take accountability, bold steps, and take difference to heart. Because without diversity of thought and a dedication to equality for all, there is no moving forward. So, you have colorful hair? Don’t care. Tattoos? Show off your ink. Like polka dots? That’s cool. Pop culture geek? Many of us are. Passion for technology and world changing? Be you, with us!
