As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you'll be an integral part of our team, responsible for identifying solutions to assigned projects covering the breadth of the product offerings at CFR Engines, Inc. The engineer is responsible for building conceptual prototypes, validating the concept, bringing the product into full production, and following up with a critical review of the projects. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop mechanical system design solutions based on engineering principles.
  • Work closely with team members on conceptual design layout, vendor interaction, prototyping, testing, and performance characterization
  • Analyze project requirements and perform technical calculations supporting design.
  • Communicate technical details, ideas, and concepts to engineers and non-engineers.
  • Create accurate documentation to support NPI process including DVP&R, BOM, Routing,3D drawings, and instruction manuals.
  • Interacts with manufacturing plants and outside suppliers to achieve project goals.
  • Ensure timely delivery of projects, expected quality, and allotted budget.
  • Make engineering changes as necessary and document the amendments accordingly.

What We're Looking For:

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years performing responsibilities associated with mechanical design engineering for manufacturing.
  • Technical acumen: Familiar with six-sigma techniques, e.g., design for manufacturability/reliability (DFx),SPC, GR&R.
  • Software: Proficiency in 3D CAD: SolidWorks or Creo; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; working knowledge of MRP systems (preferably Epicor) is desirable.
