As a Member / Customer Service Representative I at Christian Community Credit Union , you will play a vital role in proactively educating our members about our diverse range of CCCU products and services. Utilizing your exceptional product knowledge and rapport-building skills, you will effectively communicate the benefits of various account types, guiding members and applicants in selecting the most suitable options for their needs. Your keen eye for cross-selling opportunities will help drive growth and retention for our credit union. Additionally, you will handle essential tasks such as processing new accounts, account closures, certificate of deposit renewals, and other maintenance requests. Your responsibilities will also include managing IRA accounts and processing deceased member accounts, ensuring that every interaction reflects our commitment to excellence and caring service.
What you need to be successful

To thrive as a Member / Customer Service Representative I at Christian Community Credit Union , candidates must possess a blend of essential skills and experience. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with a minimum of two years of customer service experience, highlighting your ability to engage with customers effectively. Previous cross-selling experience is crucial for identifying opportunities that promote growth and member satisfaction. Proficiency in PC/Windows-based software, particularly in word processing (Word preferred) and spreadsheets (Excel preferred), is necessary for maintaining accurate records. Strong math aptitude, accurate typing skills at 40wprm, and 10-key skills at 18kpm will enhance your efficiency in handling transactions. A minimum of one year of banking experience and knowledge of credit unions and IRAs is preferred.

Additionally, your excellent verbal and written communication abilities, coupled with good telephone techniques, will ensure that you convey information confidently and kindly, even under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum two years of customer service experience required
  • Cross-selling experience required
  • PC/Windows-based software experience required, with proficiency in word processing (Word preferred) and spreadsheets (Excel preferred)
  • Minimum one year of banking experience preferred
  • Credit union & IRA knowledge preferred
  • Ability to prioritize, effectively manage time, and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats with individuals
